Isn't the dog in Just One of the Guys supposed to be a bloodhound?
|
|
| Yep. The wrong dog is indeed on the cover. Buttercup, the
dog in Just One of the Guys, is a 120-pound bloodhound mutt whose
talents lie in sleeping and drooling. I can easily picture Buttercup napping
through the phone call from her agent… “Buttercup, pick up! You’ve got the
cover! Hello? You there? Answer the phone, dang it all! This is what we've
been waiting for!” Apparently the doggy talent agency that supplies dogs for the covers of my books was fresh out of bloodhounds, and the closest thing available was this adorable Basset hound, who was 7 months old at the time and very, very proud and excited to romp around the studio. So, while she is roughly 100 pounds undersized, she’s awfully cute, isn’t she? And to bloodhounds everywhere, sorry for the misrepresentation, but you know the saying…you snooze, you lose.
