Recently, my great friend, New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis, and I met in Reno for a plotting weekend. After 14 straight hours of being in our room, we were finally set loose. What could be more fun than the veterinarians’ convention being held in the same hotel? Nothing!
Kristan: Hold still, Jilly! You’ll just feel a little pinch. Jill: Where’s my cookie? You said I’d get a cookie!

Kristan: This isn’t real electricity, is it?
Jill: No! I’m almost positive!

Jill: Free oxygen? My favorite!

Who wants some?

Kristan: Who loves his mommy? Jill: It’s not real, Higgins. Kristan: Are you sure? Jill: No.

Don’t give up, Fluffy! Stay away from the light!

Security Guard: Ma’am? Ma’am? Please stop kissing the poster.

Kristan: Hey, these cages really lock. Jill? Jill?
